Do you provide custody evaluations or custody recommendations?
No. Wright Path Counseling & Wellness does not provide custody evaluations, custody recommendations, or opinions about which parent a child should live with. These services are outside the role of therapy.
Can you write a letter for court?
Therapy is focused on emotional wellbeing and treatment, not legal advocacy. Requests for letters, records, or court-related documentation are reviewed carefully and may be limited based on clinical appropriateness, confidentiality, consent, and legal/ethical requirements.
Can you testify in court?
Court involvement can interfere with the therapeutic relationship. If legal involvement becomes a central issue, we may discuss appropriate referrals to providers who specialize in custody, forensic, or court-related services.
What happens if therapy becomes focused on custody conflict?
If therapy shifts away from treatment and becomes focused on custody disputes, legal strategy, or parent conflict, we may recommend additional services or referrals. The goal is to protect the therapeutic space and avoid placing the child or therapist in the middle of legal conflict.
