How do you get started with therapy here?
You can start by scheduling a free 15-20 minute video consultation. This gives you a chance to share what you are looking for and see whether the therapist feels like a good fit. If you decide to move forward, you will schedule an intake appointment. During that visit, we review your concerns, background information, and therapy goals so you can get a clear plan for next steps.
What can you expect at your first therapy session?
Your first session is usually about getting to know you, understanding what brings you to therapy, and reviewing important policies. From there, you and your therapist begin shaping a treatment plan together. For children and teens, caregivers are usually involved in the intake process, and in many cases the first meeting is with parents or guardians only so they can share information openly before the child joins, if appropriate.
How long are therapy sessions?
Standard therapy sessions are typically around 50 minutes unless otherwise discussed. Some sessions may be shorter or longer depending on clinical need, age, treatment goals, and the type of service being provided.
How often will sessions occur?
Session frequency depends on clinical needs and treatment goals. Many clients begin with weekly sessions, especially at the start of therapy, and then adjust frequency over time as progress is made.
How long will I or my child need therapy?
The length of therapy varies. Some clients come for short-term support around a specific concern, while others benefit from longer-term therapy for trauma, emotional regulation, family concerns, or ongoing stressors. Progress is reviewed throughout treatment.
Is the initial consultation free, and what is it for?
Yes. We offer a free 15-20 minute video consultation. It gives you a chance to briefly share what you're looking for, ask questions, and see whether the therapist and services feel like a good fit. There is no pressure to commit during the call (the goal is simply to help you make an informed next step).
